The Kiltz Family

Founder, Erin Kiltz delivering a HGF basket

Our Beginning

His Grace Foundation was founded by John and Erin Kiltz in response to the needs they witnessed as a family while their own daughter, Gracie underwent treatment for cancer at Texas Children’s Hospital.

Gracie, who has Downs Syndrome, was diagnosed with Leukemia at age 2 and spent much of her 14-month treatment as an inpatient.

With the help of friends and family members in Houston, the Kiltz’s were well supported, however they witnessed first-hand the struggles many families faced as they dealt with the care of their critically ill child in addition to the needs of their healthy children and the day to day details of life.

They designed HGF to be ‘Grace in the Need of the Moment’ for families on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit of Texas Children’s Hospital.

Thousands of parents around the world feel grateful for what Texas Children’s Hospital has done for their child. The Kiltz’s turned their gratitude into a ministry with the creation of HisGraceFoundation in 1997, a non-profit foundation.

Erin’s best friend, Val Anderson, has consistently been at her side and instrumental in helping with the formation of HisGraceFoundation.

Together, they have recruited friends, volunteers and donors to help with the very successful annual, “His Grace Foundation Charity Golf Tournament”.

The Foundation also provides meals, phone cards and weekly shopping, but its biggest financial contribution is to pay for parking for each family for as long as they remain on the transplant unit.

Recently, Erin has passed the baton to her loyal friend, Val Anderson who is our current Executive Director. She carries forth the mission of providing help and relief for cancer-stricken children and their families.

Your continued help, contributions and the tremendous effort put forth by all, is sincerely appreciated by the many who benefit from your generosity. Please consider giving HGF a call today and experience this joy of giving.      281-620-4511
